Description

Loveland Elementary School was one of three schools that originally collaborated to create Westside Community Schools. Today, its original Tudor facade fronts a modern elementary school serving more than 275 students. The mission for Loveland Elementary was developed with representation from all staff, students, and community members. Loveland staff routinely communicates with the community through the school and classroom websites, weekly classroom and school newsletters, and monthly community club meetings. Open lines of communication are continuously maintained through parent meetings, phone calls, and emails.

More than 50 certified and non-certified staff members have made learning the first priority with impressive results. Academic goals at Loveland are based on district outcomes, board adopted curriculum, research of best practices, and analysis of student data. Loveland’s leadership fosters a learning community through participation in weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLC), weekly Student Assistance Team (SAT) meetings, weekly grade level team collaboration, and accountability for quality lesson plans. Goals for self-discipline are supported through a character education program helping children become more responsible, respectful, and caring human beings. The school maintains an active community club that supports a variety of academic, social, and fundraising activities. High attendance at school functions is further evidence that at Loveland Elementary everyone works together to educate the whole child in a caring environment.
