Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports, or PBIS, is a process developed within and funded by the U.S. Department of Education. It is a multi-tiered approach to social, emotional, and behavioral needs. It is based on effective behavioral practices, instructional
design, and strategies that focus on a proactive process of teaching and encouraging appropriate behaviors and fostering positive relationships between students and adults. At the district level, pieces of the Boys Town Well Managed Schools model is used to support this.
