Westside’s English Learner Program is part of our award-winning Special Services department.
Westside’s English Learner (EL) educators and staff members focus on improving the education of limited English proficient (LEP) students by assisting them to learn English and meet state and local academic standards. Westside has approximately eight certified EL teachers, and one district-level program coordinator. These staff members are responsible for providing services to students within all K-12 buildings. Although this number fluctuates greatly from year to year, we have about 230 students (speaking 32 languages) receiving EL services in the 2022-23 school year.
For more information about services, English status records, and English learner records, please contact Program Coordinator Rosa Kennedy at (402) 343-2778 or by email at kennedy.rosa@westside66.net
